Code of Conduct

1. Purpose & Scope

The Healing Young Minds Conference is committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, safe, and respectful environment for all participants, including attendees, speakers, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and staff. By participating in this event, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.

This policy applies to all conference activities—sessions, looking at exhibits, and informal interactions.

3. Who Must Follow This Code

All participants—including attendees, presenters, volunteers, exhibitors, sponsors, and organizers—must follow this Code regardless of role or position.

4. Expected Behavior

All participants are expected to:

  • Treat others with kindness and respect

  • Communicate professionally and thoughtfully

  • Listen actively and without judgment

  • Respect personal boundaries and privacy

  • Be mindful of potentially sensitive topics

  • Support healing-centered, trauma-informed dialogue

  • Follow all venue and conference rules

  • Report concerns to conference staff

  • Cooperate with organizers regarding safety concerns

5. Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behaviors include:

  • Harassment, discrimination, or hateful language

  • Verbal or physical abuse

  • Unwanted sexual comments or attention

  • Bullying, intimidation, or coercion

  • Pressuring others to share personal stories

  • Violating confidentiality or privacy

  • Recording, photographing, or sharing content without consent

  • Disruptive or unsafe conduct

  • Inappropriate use of authority or position

  • Any retaliation against someone who reports a concern

6. Reporting Concerns

If you experience or witness a violation:

  1. Notify a conference organizer immediately.

  2. Reports will be taken seriously and reviewed promptly.

  3. Consequences may include warnings, session removal, full expulsion, or involvement of appropriate authorities.

All decisions by conference leadership are final.

7. Additional Considerations

Because this conference includes sensitive mental-health and youth-related content:

  • Use trauma-informed language

  • Avoid graphic descriptions

  • Do not pressure others to share personal information

  • Respect confidentiality of stories discussed

  • Be mindful of survivors and triggering content

  • Allow space for emotional support needs

By participating in the Healing Young Minds Conference, you agree to follow and uphold this Code of Conduct.

Violations may result in corrective action including removal from conference.
